DTG & DTF Printing Explained

DTG (Direct-to-Garment) Printing

DTG is ideal for highly detailed, full-color designs—like photos or intricate artwork. Using specialized inkjet technology, the design is printed directly onto the fabric, allowing for a soft, breathable finish that feels like part of the shirt.

Perfect for:

  • Cotton and cotton-blend garments
  • Small batch or one-off custom tees
  • Designs with gradients, shadows, or lots of color

     Pros:

  • Soft feel—no heavy transfer layer
  • Great for complex or photo-like prints
  • Eco-friendly water-based inks

👕 DTF (Direct-to-Film) Printing

DTF involves printing your design onto a special film, then transferring it onto the garment using heat and adhesive powder. It works on a wide variety of fabrics and is especially durable.

Perfect for:

  •  Cotton, polyester, blends, and more
  •  Custom names/numbers
  •  Bold, vibrant designs

    Pros:

  • Works on nearly any fabric
  • Strong, long-lasting prints
  • Great stretch and flexibility
